Description

Nacho Cashew Cheese Sauce is a familiar favourite but it isn’t necessarily considered healthy….until now!! You may be entertaining and have mixed dietary requirements, dont miss the opportunity to make sure all diners feel well catered to! This vegan and gluten-free recipe is so delicious you are going to wonder why you ever ate the unhealthy version.  Fantastic with corn chips but I’m sure you will find plenty of places to use this crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup cashews

1 tbsp liquid amino

2 tbsp nutritional yeast

2 tbsp onion powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

3 tbsp white wine vinegar

1 tbsp coconut sugar (optional)

1/2 cup of warm water

pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  • Soak the cashews for a minimum of 3 hours in warm water or ideally overnight
  • Strain and rinse
  • Blend with the remainder of the ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy
  • Add a bit less or more water to the Nacho Cashew Cheese Sauce to get the consistency required and to assist the blender.

Notes

  • With corn chips, this Nacho Cheese Sauce is a crowd-pleaser but also a nice sandwich filler or replacement for hummus.
