
Flavoursome Beef Meatballs
Description
You deserve to have a simple recipe to make the most flavoursome beef meatballs that can be served as an appetizer or main course. You will enjoy these juicy, wholesome beef meatballs that are great for family or friends.
*approximately 30 beef meatballs
Ingredients
Scale
2 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves of sliced garlic
2 small onions diced small
3 tbsp of mixed herbs
1 tsp dried chilli flakes (optional)
1 tbsp of fresh oregano
½ tsp pink salt
2 tbsp of flaxmeal
500g grass fed minced beef
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
1 cup of vegetable stock
Instructions
- Heat half your oil and fry off the onions till soft then add the garlic until cooked
- Add your dried herbs, chilli (if using) and fry to release flavours
- In a mixing bowl add mince, onion mix, fresh herbs, salt and flaxmeal and fully combine
- Take palm sized portions of the mix and roll into balls
- Heat oil back in your frying pan and slowly place the meatballs in a clockwise motion
- All the meatballs to seal and brown before turning
- Once the meatballs are browned on all sides, add the chopped tomatoes
- You can add extra seasoning if would like to the tomatoes
- Add your vegetable stock and allow to simmer until the sauce reduces and becomes thicker
- Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with chopped fresh herbs
Notes
- When eating beef I always opt for high quality grass fed beef sources
- This dish could be just as nice with cooked lentils or cooked mushrooms or check out my rice balls as a plant based option.
- I prefer to use stock instead of water when making sauces for extra flavour, but you can also use extra seasoning ie fresh herbs, salt to create more flavour if you dont have stock. My stock is always leftover from steaming vegetables.
- This dish matches well with pasta or steamed basmati rice
