Cauliflower Gluten-Free Pizza Base

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 head cauliflower
  • 1 organic egg
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180c
  2. Whizz the head of the cauliflower in a food processor alternatively use a cheese grater over a bowl leaving just the stalk
  3. Place the grated cauliflower ‘rice’ into a pot with a tight fitted lid and add one cup of warm water
  4. With the lid on allow to steam for 5 minutes
  5. Remove from heat and transfer the rice to a muslin cloth or a very thin clean tea towel
  6. Give a good squeeze to remove any excess water
  7. Place the rice in a bowl and stir in the egg, oregano & salt until you have a dough like mixture
  8. Spread the mixture on a lined baking tray or a pizza base tray
  9. Bake for 15 minutes or until slightly golden

Notes

  • Top your pizza base with any ingredients you like eg. a good quality (watch out for added sugar) tomato sauce or tomato puree
  • Then sprinkle with your favourite pizza ingredients or any leftovers in the fridge
